Born and bred in Southern California, I’m now living in—and loving—the Pacific Northwest with my husband, two daughters, and a small menagerie of pets.
As an avid reader, I appreciate the written word and admire the fortitude a dedicated author pours into their craft. I firmly believe that regardless of subject matter or the content’s destination, all an author wants is for their work to shine. As far as mottoes go, mine is simple: The pride I take in my work is meant to make your work shine its brightest.
With experience editing and proofreading fiction in genres ranging from WWII historical suspense to middle grade fantasy, I specialize in romance and adore all its subgenres and tropes. I hold a BA in Psychology and an MS in School Counseling—so I’m no stranger to rewrites and revisions, having written and rewritten, amended and abridged, overhauled and refashioned more papers than I can count. I’ve long been undaunted by the editing process, and being detail oriented and naturally adaptive play a huge role in my success as a proofreader. I have a great pair of “eagle eyes,” but I know that’s not enough. I’m a graduate of the comprehensive program Proofread Anywhere: General Proofreading, under the tutelage of Caitlin Pyle, as well as a member of both the American Copy Editors Society (ACES) and the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA).
In addition to reading, I also enjoy sewing and baking. Although it’s up for debate, it’s been suggested that I may have a slight addiction to the Hallmark channel; but in my defense, I (usually) only watch while I’m sewing or baking. Or during Christmastime. Or any other season of the year.
